OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Wood Council (CWC) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has agreed to extend Rick Jeffery’s mandate as the organization’s President and CEO to 2025.
 
“We are extremely pleased to announce that Rick will continue his role as President and CEO for CWC,” said Jérôme Pelletier, Chairman of the Board. “In his short time as Interim CEO, Rick has elevated the leadership, culture, and strategic direction at CWC. This gives us the utmost confidence in CWC’s continued progress under Rick’s stewardship as we transition into a new chapter for our industry.”
 
Since joining CWC as interim CEO in 2022, Rick has made it a priority to work alongside its board of directors and staff in renewing CWC’s strategic plan, strengthen the relationship with its key stakeholders as well as establishing a new leadership team.
 
“I am incredibly proud of the progress seen at CWC over the past year and I’m grateful for the confidence, trust and leadership the board has instilled in me to continue this journey to expand our industry’s footprint in the marketplace while supporting our government’s priorities,” said Rick Jeffery, President, and CEO. “Despite having made great strides in expanding the use of wood in the built environment, work remains, and I’m very excited about the future of CWC and our industry as I continue to work with a passionate and talented team.”
