Images coming out of the wildfires in central Oregon show firefighters dwarfed by towering flames. The lightning-caused Rowe Creek Complex is currently estimated at 295,132 acres and 39% contained, with 2,035 firefighting personnel assigned across the complex. The Brewer, Green Mountain and Crosswhite fires are now collectively called the Rowe Creek Complex-West Zone, which covers operations west of the Wheeler County line. The broader complex extends from the Prineville area toward Mitchell and Fossil. West Zone resources include 48 hand crews, 100 engines, 42 pieces of heavy equipment, 30 water tenders and 18 aviation resources. …Wildfires have burned more than 1 million acres across Oregon this year.
