Simon Dorries

AUSTRALIA — Responsible Wood has announced that Simon Dorries will step down as CEO after more than 11 years with the organisation. Dorries joined Responsible Wood in May 2015 and has played a key role in the development and growth of the PEFC certification system in Australia. During his tenure, Responsible Wood strengthened its position as an Australian forest certification scheme and increased awareness of sustainably managed forests, as well as responsibly sourced wood and paper products. Responsible Wood chair Dr Tony Bartlett said “Simon has always been much more than simply the CEO of Responsible Wood.” Dorries represented Responsible Wood nationally and internationally, building relationships across the forest and wood products sector, government, environmental organisations and the wider PEFC network. …The board will begin recruiting Dorries’ successor, with the CEO position to be publicly advertised. During the transition, Responsible Wood sustainability manager Matt de Jong will serve as acting CEO.
