The Forest Practices Board is an independent government agency that plays a vital part in sustainable forest management within BC. Under the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA), the Board has a mandate to: conduct periodic, independent audits of forest and range practices by licensees and of the adequacy of government enforcement; investigate public complaints and initiate special investigations of forest and range practices; appeal certain decisions to the Forest Appeals Commission; and recommend improvements to practices, policy and legislation. …Board members are appointed by Order-in-Council for a 2 to 3-year term, renewable for a second term. Remuneration is on a per diem basis.
