Shocking. …I’d like to celebrate the closing of the 2026 forest fire season with five solutions that we can begin to apply immediately that will actually progress towards solving the problem. 

• Build bioenergy projects in every community within the boreal forest to consume the overabundance of forest fire fuel
• Invest in cultural burning practices close to our communities
• Use more wood
• Update forest management frameworks to a post-rupture era
• Create a national forest fire strategy and start a national Forestry youth corps.
