Lheidli T’enneh First Nation welcomed members of the community to celebrate the special soft launch of the Ancient Forest Interpretive Centre on Thursday, Aug. 27. More than than 100 members of the public travelled to the site east of Prince George to take part in the event, which included Chief Dolleen Logan and councillors, elders, Lheidli T’enneh staff, members of Prince George council and representatives of BC Parks and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. The Ancient Forest Interpretive Centre sits at the entrance to Ancient Forest Provincial Park, which is known as Chun T’oh Whudujut in Dakelh. The park, located a little more than an hour east of Prince George on Highway 16, is one of the world’s only inland temperate rainforests.
