COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry recognized two honorees Thursday morning at the Forest of Honor ceremony in Zaleski State Forest for their outstanding contributions to forestry in Ohio. “Ohio’s forests are stronger because of the people and organizations that dedicate their time and expertise to caring for them,” said Division of Forestry Chief Dan Balser. “This year’s honorees have educated Ohioans, advanced responsible forest management, and helped connect people to the importance and value of our state’s forests.” Trees were planted in the Forest of Honor to recognize the following recipients: Kathy Smith, Forestry Program Director, Retired and The Dawes Arboretum. Induction into the Forest of Honor recognizes individuals, groups, and organizations that have contributed significantly to the accomplishment of the Division of Forestry’s mission and the advancement of Ohio forestry
