BCIT is seeking experienced professionals from across the wood products sector to help develop a new Wood Products Performance & Analytics (WPPA) Micro-Credential designed for current and future industry leaders. The program is intended to help professionals strengthen their ability to improve operational performance, make data-informed decisions, and navigate the challenges facing today’s wood products industry, including fibre supply constraints, market volatility, workforce pressures, and the need for continuous improvement.
The program will bring together expertise in wood processing, manufacturing, data analytics, business strategy, reliability, and operational improvement through wood industry-based case studies and applied projects.
We Need Industry Expertise
We’re looking for wood industry professionals with expertise in the following areas within the wood products sector:
- Data Analytics for Wood Processing
- Wood Industry Operations & Performance Improvement
- Manufacturing Science & Wood Processing
- Maintenance, Reliability & Optimization
- Fibre Supply & Resource Management
- Business Strategy, & Finance in the Wood Products Sector
- Advanced Manufacturing & Technology for Wood Products
No Teaching Experience Required
You do not need prior teaching or course development experience to contribute. We are looking for industry knowledge, practical insights, and real-world examples.
This is a paid opportunity, and BCIT’s program team will provide guidance and instructional design support throughout the process.
Flexible Ways to Participate
We recognize that industry professionals are busy, so opportunities to contribute can be tailored to your interests and availability. Participation may include:
- Sharing a case study, project, or operational challenge
- Participating in a 1-2 hour interview or focus group
- Reviewing draft course content and providing feedback
- Advising on industry trends, skills, and competencies
- Contributing to a course module or a specific topic area
- Serving as a mentor or advisor for applied industry projects
- Helping develop portions of a course or an entire course
