This time with countries in Europe and as a result the European Commission is ready to retaliate with tariffs of its own including tariffs on a variety of wood products from the United States. …According to the National Hardwood Lumber Association, the European Union has proposed retaliatory tariffs on U.S. wood products in response to U.S. tariffs on European steel and aluminum. These tariffs, which include lumber, veneer, moulding, flooring, plywood, OSB, and more, are set to take effect in April after a consultation period this month. …President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said: “The countermeasures we take today are strong but proportionate.” …She said the countermeasures will be introduced in two steps. Starting with April 1 and fully in place as of April 13.
